League Cup Final
WBC Womens Reserves 2-0 Forest Hall.
A dramatic cup final today at Sam Smith Park. After already having to make changes due to cup tied players, we were down to 10 after 15 minutes after a red card. However despite the opposition having the numerical advantage we still managed to control the game against an impressive young Forest Hall team. The players had to dig deep in baking hot conditions. First goal came after a Michaela shot was superbly saved by the impressive opposition Goalkeeper however as ever on the spot first was Rachael Hepple to pop the ball into an empty net. Forest Hall through caution to the wind as the game went on however we held firm and restricted any shots on target. The game was sealed with 7 minutes to go as Hannah Gosnold who had to drop back to left back got herself room in the box to beat a couple of players before rifling the ball home. This made it a League and Cup double for the team, well done to our opponents who really made us work very hard for the win.
League Committee awarded captain Catherine Shields Player of the match.
